in se nato posvetila evangelizacijskemu delu v okviru angleške vojske,
ki jo je leta 1907 pripeljalo v Indijo. Tam je spoznala svojega
bodočega moža, Walterja Evansa. Skupaj sta se preselila v Združene
Države, kjer je g. Evans postal duhovik Episkopalne cerkve.
zaročila s pravnikom Fosterjem Baileyem, nacionalnim tajnikom TD

modrostjo, teozofskim študijem, religijo, filozofijo in sodobnimi
dogodki v letih 1919 do 1949.
poteh. Umrla je 15. decembra 1949.

Alice Ann Bailey was born in Manchester, England, on June 16th 1880
as Alice LaTrobe Bateman. She had a strong Christian education,
and went on to do evangelical work in the British Army, which took
her to India in 1907, where she met her future husband, Walter Evans.
Together they moved to United States of America, where Mr. Evans
became an Episcopalian priest.
Their life became harder and harder, and their
marriage, after the birth of three daughters, ended in divorce in
1915. The same year Alice Evans met two English women living in
Pacific Grove, California, who introduced her to Theosophy.
In 1917 Alice moved
to the headquarters of the Theosophical Society at Krotona. There
she was admitted into the Esoteric School and when she was attending
its meeting for the first time she saw pictures of the Masters of
the Wisdom and recognized the spiritual guide she believed had helped
her from the age of fifteen as the Master K. H.
In 1919 Alice became
engaged with lawyer Foster Bailey, National Secretary of the TS
in Amerika and said that she was contacted by the spirit of another
individual whom she called 'the Tibetan' and identified with the
adept D. K.

in the TS in Amerika (1919-22).
This began Alice's writings,
in which she and her claimed Tibetan Master illustrate a body of
esoteric teachings relating to ancient wisdom, theosophical studies,
religion, philosophy and contemporary events from 1919 to 1949.
In 1920 Alice married
Foster Bailey and by 1922 Foster started the Lucis Trust Publishing
Company and, by 1923, the Arcane School, a school for the disciples
of the coming new era. The school's mission was to teach students
on how to further the Great Universal Plan, guided by the inner
hierarchy of spiritual masters under Christ.
At the end of her life,
she began to write her autobiography. She agreed to write the book
only to give others inspiration to follow their own spiritual paths.
She died on 15th December 1949.
