J. J. Van der Leeuw se je rodil 26. avgusta 1893. Študiral je pravo
in diplomiral z nalogo “Praktični idealizem”.
njegovega notranjega kroga. Leta 1921 pa še duhovnik Liberalne
Katoliške Cerkve in dobil Subba Rowovo medaljo za svojo knjigo
The Fire of Creation, klasično teozofsko delo, ki ga objavljajo
še dandanes. Poleg te je objavil še: A Dramatic History of the
Christian Faith, The Conquest of Illusion in Gods
in Exile.
Leta 1930 je postal
generalni tajnik Nizozemske sekcije Teozofskega Društva, vendar
pa po dveh letih zapustil ta položaj zaradi slabega zdravja in potem,
ko je leta 1931 objavil pomemben članek pod naslovom Revelation
or Realization: The Conflict in Theosophy. Ta članek je pomemben
teozofski document, v katerem avtor obravnava predmet razodetij
v Teozofskem Društvu in kako je to vprašanje povzročilo krize, ki
se vlečejo do današnjih dni in so razlog za slabo stanje v teozofskih
organizacijah.
Po teh dogodkih se je
preselil v Združene Države in deloval kot univerzitetni profesor
in se posvečal operativnemu delu vzgoje otrok, v okviru New Education
Fellowship.
poznavanja pomena in delovanja Tretje Osebe Božanske Trojice, Svetega
Duha, Ognja Kreacije, Življenjskega Ritma, Božanskega Rituala, Dinamičnega
Vesolja, Božanske Alkemije, Božanskega Uma, Navdiha, Mahachohana,
Gospoda Sedmih Žarkov, Materinstva Boga.

J. J. Van der Leeuw was born on August 26th, 1893. He studied law
and got a PHD in "Practical Idealism" and afterwards received
Doctorate of Letters at Leyden University. Still while a student
he started the Practical Idealism Association and its magazine
Regeneration. He joined the Theosophical Society in 1914
and quickly became a valued member of the inner circle. By 1921
he became also a Priest of the Liberal Catholic Church
and won the Subba Row Medal for The Fire of Creation, a
theosophical classic that is still largely in print. He also published
A Dramatic History of the Christian Faith, The Conquest
of Illusion and Gods in Exile.
In 1930 Van der Leeuw was elected general secretary
of the Dutch section of the TS, but had to lay down this function
due to health problems and as he published an important article
under the title Revelation or Realization: The Conflict in Theosophy.
This article is an important theosophical document as it considers
the revelations in the Theosophical Society and how this issue was
a basis for the crises which endures till nowadays and is cause
for the poor condition in the theosophical organizations.
After these events J. J. van der Leeuw went to
the United States of America, where he was a university lecturer
and a field organizer for the New Education Fellowship. He was in
a close friendship with Krishnamurti and traveled a lot. During
one of his travels in 1934 the plane he was in and was flying himself,
crashed because of a sandstorm somewhere in Africa and he died.
Van der Leeuw's books are often outcome of a series
of talks given to a group of students interested in the meaning
and work of the Third Person of the Divine Trinity, the Holy Ghost,
the Fire of Creation, the Rhythm of Life, the Divine Ritual, the
Dynamic Universe, Divine Alchemy, the Divine Mind, the Mahachohan,
the Lord of the Five Rays, the Motherhood of God.
