From July 11th to 13th 1925 there was paying a visit to Zagreb Dr. George Sydney Arundale, then personal secretary of the late President Dr. Annie Besant and actual President of the Theosophical Society. In that occasion there was for the first time expressed the idea about the necessity of the foundation of the Society’s body. Next year there has spent few months in our country Mrs. Alice Adair from Adyar who prepared in Zagreb and later on in Belgrade very successful exhibitions of pictures and reproductions of Indian arts. Mrs. Adair gave as a present all the income, 700 dinars, to the Yugoslav Theosophical Society with the intention to launch the Society’s magazine “Teozofija”. The first issue of the magazine is dated on July 1927. From then on “Teozofija” was regularly published for ten years, although in some cases, because of lack of funds or when certain important anniversaries were celebrated, there were more issues published together.
In the first year “Teozofija” brought forward the presentation of the essence of Theosophy, of its basic principles, of the mission of the Theosophical Movement and of the foundation of the Yugoslav Theosophical Society in our country. In the second year there was a presentation of duties and directions to young students of occultism, while the third was dedicated to the study of thought power. The fourth and fifth year included the reminiscences of the Founders of the T. S., Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and Henry Still Olcott, at the occasions of the 100th Anniversaries of the days of their birth. The sixth was dedicated to Peace. The seventh year presented details about the personality of Dr Annie Besant to commemorate her passing on September 20th 1933 in Adyar. The eight year was dedicated to the King Unifier, Alexander I., to the new President Dr. George Sydney Arundale and to deceased Bishop C. W. Leadbeater. The ninth year presented the significance of the Diamond Jubilee, the 60th Anniversary of the Theosophical Society, the Fourth World Congress of the T. S. in Geneva, the President’s Seven Years Plan and his visit to the Section of the Theosophical Society in Yugoslavia.
